AEO and SEO for Saudi Arabia: An Arabic–English Website Checklist
A practical planning guide for Saudi businesses: language ownership, bilingual pages, accurate business details and enquiry journeys.

Treat language as a product decision
For a business targeting Saudi Arabia, AEO starts with making the offer understandable in the languages its customers use. Decide which services need Arabic, English or both before commissioning a large content calendar. A translated headline above an English-only buying journey is not a complete Arabic experience. Assign a qualified Arabic reviewer and budget for their approval; translation quality should not be assumed from an agency’s location.
Build a language inventory before adding pages
List the homepage, service pages, pricing explanations, FAQs, enquiry form, confirmation messages and downloadable documents. Mark an owner and language status for each. Prioritize the full path to an enquiry for the most valuable service. For example, a hypothetical Riyadh supplier might need an Arabic product specification explanation before it needs an English thought-leadership article. Validate that choice with real customers and sales staff.
Give each language a usable destination
Google recommends separate URLs for language versions and appropriate hreflang annotations to connect them. Use a visible language switcher so people can choose. Test right-to-left layout, punctuation beside English product names, navigation, telephone links and form validation with an Arabic reader. Do not publish empty translated URLs or label an English page as Arabic. Treat each version as a complete page with appropriate metadata and a deliberate canonical.

Make answers specific enough to help a buyer
A useful service page explains what is delivered, what the customer must supply, where work can be delivered and how a quotation is obtained. If the business has a physical Saudi location, state only the verified address and service area. If delivery is remote from India, say so clearly. Do not invent Riyadh or Jeddah office locations, local client logos or Arabic expertise you have not arranged.
Design the enquiry handoff
Offer the contact methods your team actually monitors. Tell customers what to include: service, company website, target language, launch date and any location-dependent requirements. Agree who handles Arabic enquiries and what happens when a message arrives outside working hours. A polished bilingual page loses its value if nobody can respond in the language the visitor selected. Confirm campaign calendars directly with the client rather than assuming one schedule fits every Saudi business.
Audit before expanding
- Can an Arabic reader complete the whole enquiry journey?
- Are language URLs linked and correctly annotated?
- Do service descriptions and structured data agree?
- Are business locations and contact details accurate?
- Does reporting separate country, page and language where data allows?
